Transformers Age of Extinction - Mark Wahlberg

Posted: Updated:

The highly anticipated summer Blockbuster: Transformers, "Age of Extinction" finally opens this week. Shireen says it won't disappoint. Yeah, it's pretty good. Matter of fact, I think the fourth times a charm for Michael Bay and his autobots. I traveled to Hong Kong where a lot of the movie was filmed to cover the world premiere and to chat with the franchises new leading man, Mark Wahlberg.

If you're looking for an explosive summer movie Blockbuster, Michael Bay's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" is definitely your ticket. It has an entirely new cast lead by hunky heartthrob Mark Wahlberg. I caught up with the actor in Hong Kong, where a lot of the movie was filmed for its world premiere.

Shireen: "Does it every get old hat for you? Getting guessed up?"

Mark Wahlberg: "I don't put on a suit unless I absolutely have to but I am excited to see the movie tonight in 3D. I haven't seen the finished version of the movie"

Shireen: "You haven't OK."

Mark Wahlberg: "I'm seeing it on IMax 3d."

In part four, all autobots have been either eliminated or deactivated because humans fear them after an alien war.

Shireen: "This particular franchise has done so well. It's been so successful. What do you attribute that to?"

Mark Wahlberg: "To Michael, this is his vision. His baby. He has the whole movie in his head, and everyone that's lucky enough to be apart of it, is there to service his vision."

Mark plays an inventor/mechanic who stumbles across a de-activated Optimus Prime. Lucky for us, he flips his switch. Bay's fourth film in the franchise is by far the best.

Shireen: "What is it like to be apart of a big production with him? A lot of people may think, oh, these are special efx's but dude, you are running thru stuff, it's physical, it's intense."

Mark Wahlberg: "He makes it as real as possible, and that's what I like about it. You don't feel too ridiculous running from nothing. You're not on a sound stage where it's just green screen and everything is super imposed later."

For Mark, filming in Hong Kong was fantastic.

Shireen: "How would you describe the city to someone from Miami that's never been?"

Mark Wahlberg: "Just visually it's stunning."

Shireen: "Amazing."

Mark Wahlberg: "You look out the window, well you can't see here. When I got off the plane, I was just blown away. Definitely a place to come and visit and take a vacation."

Getting on the right time zone is tough for actors and some reporters.

Shireen: "Give me a tip for jet lag because I don't know if I'm coming or going."

Mark Wahlberg: "Today I have energy, but yesterday I was absolutely destroyed. there is no real tip."

Shireen: "I say the same thing."

Mark Wahlberg: "Everyone has there own philosophy. I deal with it the best that I can. I'm just getting older and it is what it is."

Mark shines in the role and brings an honesty to Transformers that's been missing for a long time. Besides that, he really liked my iPhone case.

Shireen: "I have Batman, Superman."

Mark Wahlberg: "Can I see it? That's cool."

Shireen: "Now I need a Mark Wahlberg phone case."

Mark Wahlberg: "We'll get one made for you."

After a day of public pressure from angry fans and concerned sponsors, the Minnesota Vikings have reversed course and placed star running back Adrian Peterson on the exempt-commissioner's permission list, a move that...

Big, bouncing, beautiful butts: that's what pop culture is currently obsessed with. I can't blame people, though. I mean, I get it. I love JLo's luscious curves, Kim Kardashian's arguably more-than-ample derriere, Miley Cyrus' terrific, tail-twerking ways; I'm even warming up to Nicki Minaj's booty-popping song and video, "Anaconda."
