Jamaica Sandal Company

Posted: Updated:

Want to have a hand in what goes on your feet? Now you can. There's an island sandal shop that is based in So-Flo that wants to give your tootsies a summer makeover. Time to hit the sun in a shiny pair of sandals.

It's summertime, which means time to put your best foot forward. And thanks to the latest looks from Jamaica Sandal Company, your feet will be feeling Irie.

Summer Tieshue: "Jamaica Sandal Company is a company that makes sandals handmade, and they are fit to perfection just for you."

The sandals are all leather and made to order.

Summer Tieshue: "Ours are different because you become the artisan. If you see a style and you would like to change the color or change the strap or do something different, we encourage you to be your own artisan and to do it the way you like it done."

This season they're adding bling and things to the lineup of shoes.

Summer Tieshue: "Every girl needs a little bling. Our blinged out sandals come [in a] variety of styles and a variety of colors."

From the "Lola," which is a big, blinged out flower, to the "Cute as a Button," which is sparkly and, as you might have guessed, cute as a button. And the love story design will melt your heart.

Summer Tieshue: "Our blings add to your outfit. You need some bling for your feet if you want to be the one standing out this summer."

If bling's not your thing, how about making your sandals letter perfect?

Summer Tieshue: "The initials are super trendy. Everyone wants to have their initials these days somewhere, whether it's on your jewelry or on your purse, so why not on your feet?"

You can have your own initials, or even your child's, or mix it up a bit.

Summer Tieshue: "I've had people do two different letters. One for the first name, one for the last name."

The sandals are unique and comfy, and what's on your toes will have you turning heads.

Summer Tieshue: "Our traditional style is the strap-up sandal, and with the traditional you strap it up on your ankle and you strap it in the front or the back."

You can customize your pair of blinged out or initial sandals online.

So let your fingers do the walking.

Summer Tieshue: "You definitely need to check out our sandals for the summer so you don't get left behind. We always keep our customers island chic."

I'll never forget the endless summers I spent on the coast of North Carolina. My shoulders were always kissed by the sun, my hair was continually salty from the ocean and my one-piece, bright blue bathing suit was my constant companion.

The last time I had on a pair of overalls, I was miles from civilization with a whip in my hand, an hysterical co-worker by my side and five angry cowboys staring me down.

I don't remember dying, but I did. Twice. It was a chilly Fall morning in October at a dentist's office in Santa Fe. My mom had escorted me to what was supposed to be a regular wisdom teeth extraction appointment.

Sometimes, love can be hard to find in South Florida. The same can't be said for burgers, though. Tasty patties are everywhere. A new joint is offering up a unique take on this favorite comfort food. It's fresh, healthy and tastes like nothing you've tried before. Welcome to Burger Love.
