MIAMI (WSVN) -- A man has died and a woman was rushed to the hospital after they were stabbed Wednesday morning.

Police arrived at the scene around 9:30 a.m. and found the two victims stabbed multiple times inside of their apartment at 1559 N.W. North River Drive. Alfonso Pavon, the male victim, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, who has been identified as Maria Riveria was taken to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. The victim's family said Riviera is 68 years old, and Pavon was in his 80s. "My dad had 86 years. People don't have a heart. I can't believe it," said Rodolfo Pavon Jr., whose father was stabbed to death.

Police are investigating the stabbing. "The motive at this time is unknown," said Miami Police Officer Frederica Burden. "Investigators are on the scene getting all of the clues and talking to witnesses to try and figure out what we have here."

Police are looking for a White Latin male who was covered in blood and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

If you have any information on this crime, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
