LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. (WSVN) -- As authorities continue to investigate the suspicious death of a baby that was found in a bathtub, concerned neighbors are pointing to Internet video clips posted by the infant's mother as they try to make sense of the grisly discovery.

Broward Sheriff's Office investigators were at the home on Northwest 29th Street and 44th Terrace, just off of Oakland Park Boulevard, for nearly seven hours, Thursday. Police said they received a call at about 4:13 p.m. regarding an infant found dead in a bathtub at the home.

"That's bad, that's bad. A lot of police out here," said a neighbor.

The 25-year-old mother, Nickashae Beckford, who lives at the home with her mother and stepfather, told investigators she had a miscarriage several days ago.

"Evidently, this is suspicious to us, the fact that someone would have a miscarriage and not report it for several days," said BSO Spokesperson Keyla Concepcion, "so, we are investigating it as such."

In several Photobucket videos, some several years old, Beckford talks about motherhood and is seen eating baby food. "I ain't bringing two children in the world by myself," she said in one of the clips.

In some of the videos, Beckford, who also goes by the name Shae, uses different names for herself. "Hi, guys, I'm Alicia today," she said one of the clips.

Beckford is also seen talking about how God has helped her control her behavior. "I generally tended to be very, very, very, very angry," she said. "I tended to snap sometimes. I wouldn't recognize what I was doing. I tended to go into a trance, then I snapped back. I was like, 'What did I just do?'"

7News tried to speak with Beckford Friday morning regarding the baby's death, but nobody would answer the door.

Neighbors do not know much about Beckford and her family, but they did have positive things to say about them. "Good family," said one neighbor.

"Nice people; they are nice," added another neighbor.

Area resident John Snow, however, said he was perplexed upon first hearing about the investigation. "Well, hell, it was strange to me," he said. "That's the first time I ever see that."

Beckford's former employer said she was shocked by the discovery, especially because the baby's mother worked well with children. "She was great with kids," said Rosalind Ramsey, who worked with Beckford at a local daycare facility.

"She would never seem to want kids," Ramsey continued. "I mean, I know she would bring her sister's children to the daycare, but as far as her, you know, I don't know. This is crazy."

Authorities are waiting on autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

Investigators haven't specified how far along Beckford was in her pregnancy or who discovered the baby's body.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. At this time, they have no one on custody, and no charges have been made.
