WSVN — A new baby is a lot of work, and sometimes other parts of our lives get overlooked in all the excitement. Makeover maestro Martin Amado is rescuing the baby nursery of a local celebrity who hasn’t had time to put the room together since the arrival of her bundle of joy.

Martin Amado: “We have a special makeover on today’s ‘Room for Improvement’ as we decorate the nursery space for Ivy from the Night Show on Power96.”

Ivy: “Oops! I forgot to do the nursery. Babies take so much time, and he’s already two months. He’s sleeping in my room, and he needs his own space.”

Martin Amado: “I’m going to start working on the room, painting in that room, and then decorating and then the whole thing.”

Ivy: “You don’t like the purple?”

Martin Amado: “I don’t like the purple!”

Martin Amado: “The first step in this transformation is to give this nursery space a new color scheme and say goodbye to the purple.”

Martin Amado: “All right, we are finally done with the painting. Let’s remove the tape.”

Martin Amado: “Remember, it’s always best to remove the tape before the paint completely dries or else you risk peeling off the paint.”

Martin Amado: “Next step, let’s bring in the furniture!”

Martin Amado: “If you want your nursery to be more spacious, look for multifunctional furniture. For example, here the changing table is incorporated right next to the crib, and I love that idea. Space saving.”

Martin Amado: “I wanted to make the area more functional for Ivy, giving that the changing table is right over here. By adding this small shelf, she can put all the baby supplies and even hang the clothing on the hooks.”

Martin Amado: “Here we have the perfect space to create a beautiful memory wall that captures all of those special moments before and after Zenyus’ arrival.”

Martin Amado: “These were the letters that Ivy had in her baby shower, spelling out her baby’s name. So I thought, why not turn them into artwork in the space? It’s a cool, modern touch.”

Martin Amado: “The final touch is a soft area rug, prepping the room for when Zenyus starts crawling. Let’s get Ivy.”

Martin: “Keep your eyes closed!”

Ivy: “You better hold on to me and my child!”

Martin: On the count of 3, and remember the room used to be a guest bedroom, right?”

Ivy: “Uh huh, all in purple!”

Martin: “Here we go. One, two, three!”

Ivy: “Oh my God! Oh my God! Look at your room! Wow!”

Martin Amado: “So, you’re happy?”

Ivy: “I love it, and it’s so much more room than I expected.”

Martin Amado: “Yay!”

Martin Amado: “Congratulations on your family, your beautiful family.”

Ivy: “Thank you! Martin, I love you!”

Martin: “I love you, too! To all the viewers at home, we thank you for watching, and we’ll see you next time on another ‘Room for Improvement.'”
