An early Summer-like pattern will continue through Saturday for South Florida. Look for early coastal showers and late afternoon inland storms with lots of heat. High temperatures will range around 90 degrees. By Sunday, we have a better chance to see scattered to numerous showers and storms.

Early next week, the forecast gets tricky. It will all depend on what happens with an area in the tropics… All eyes turn to the Caribbean Sea as we are watching an area of showers and storms.

This area of showers and storms is expected to move across the Yucatan Peninsula and then into the Southern Gulf of Mexico where it will have the possibility to develop. Right now, The National Hurricane Center is giving it a medium chance to form through the next 5 days and moving across the Florida Peninsula Sunday night into Monday.

Regardless of development, there is a potential for locally heavy rains and flooding. Some strong storms with wind gusts in excess of 50 mph and isolated tornadoes sometime between early Monday and Tuesday are also possible.

Keep it tuned to your Storm Station for the latest!
