WSVN — If you like fancy cocktails, now you can learn how to make them yourself. Whether it’s shaken or stirred, some local bars are teaching you the art of creating cocktails! Belkys Nerey joins in on the mixology fun in tonight’s Style File.

Mixology classes are mixing up the bar scene here in Miami.

Kareem Leon: “You get to come here, have a great cocktail, talk to somebody new, interact with people, and it’s just different.”

Twice a month at the Regent Cocktail Club, you can shake and stir your night away learning the art of classic cocktails.

Kareem Leon: “It’s a hands-on experience. We get to interact with them, so that’s pretty cool.”

Each class is unique, featuring a different spirit.

Isaac Grillo: “Tonight I wanted to showcase Afro Head in several different ways.”

For $85, you get an alcohol-themed history lesson and a demonstration on presentation. But the fun really starts when you step behind the bar and get your hands dirty!

Annie Morrison: “I’m learning all the things to put together, all the amounts of shots, everything.”

Daniel Fernandez: “I think it’s a great experience. You know, you go behind the bar.”

This class is sure to get the creative juices flowing.

Isaac Grillo: “It’s a really cool way to get together with some people you don’t know and to experience booze.”

Annie Morrison: “Mmm! I made this!”

Radio Bar is also tuning into the mixology experience with free mixology classes every month.

Teddy Collins: “I wanted to offer something for everybody to take part in the whole movement, the whole cocktail scene.”

Rachele Fialco: “It’s hard to find free, fun events in Miami to attend, so it’s just really a nice treat for me.”

Step up to the bar and your very own mixology station.

Nick Grate: “It’s making learning fun.”

To get you in the spirit of things, a brand expert begins with an explanation about the alcohol. This session is all about vodka.

Alex Pujol: “Teaching about some of the traditions and some of the Stoli values that we have, as well as some of the cocktail classics at Radio Bar.”

Lifting spirits and turning the volume up on a regular night at the bar.

Nick Grate: “If you’re interested in learning how to make some of the classic cocktails, you should come out, and if you enjoy free drinks.”

Teddy Collins: “Why not? It’s fun, it’s free, it’s interactive, it’s educational. It’s a win, win, win, win.”

Mixology student: “That’s fantastic!”
