MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — The person wanted in connection with the murder of a mother of two in Miami Beach, killed himself on Tuesday, a police source told 7News.

Crime scene investigators were on the scene at a condominium at the DoubleTree Grand, in the area of 17th Street and North Bayshore Drive, in Miami. Police said 36-year-old Samir Jemaaoui jumped to his death from the 29th floor.

Miami Beach Police were looking for the suspect, who was wanted for second-degree murder in connection to the fatal stabbing of his wife, Ines Marx, inside her South Beach high-rise apartment, Monday night.

Investigators said the woman’s two small boys, ages 4 and 6, made the gruesome discovery and went to the lobby to tell a security guard that their mother had been hurt. The security officer then called 911.

According to Miami Beach Police, officers responded to the 911 call from the south tower of the Flamingo building, located at 1500 Bay Road, at around 7 p.m. "We received a 911 call from security personnel indicating that two small children had advised that their mother was assaulted inside of their apartment," said Miami Beach Police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez. "When officers responded, they made entry into the apartment and were able to discover a female deceased inside."

Investigators later closed off part of the second floor of the Flamingo’s south tower with crime scene tape.

According to officials, Jemaaoui had been arrested at least twice for beating up and choking his wife. A police source told 7News Marx was found stabbed multiple times.

Cellphone video captured Jemaaoui’s body after, police said, he plunged to his death. Miami Police crime scene investigators joined Miami Beach homicide detectives before the body was removed.

The children were taken away by officers and are in the custody of the Department of Children and Families. They had a dependency hearing Tuesday afternoon, where it was discovered that their closest relative lives far from Miami-Dade. They will be put into foster care at least until another hearing, scheduled for Feb. 23.
