MIAMI (WSVN) — David Beckham’s group has purchased a private lot of land needed for his much-anticipated Major League Soccer stadium.

Beckham and his investors purchased a parcel of land in Overtown, according to an announcement by the organization, Thursday.

The land stretches from Northwest Sixth Street to Northwest Eighth Street.

However, they still need to negotiate the purchase of about two acres of county land.

Beckham’s group has been trying to build a soccer stadium somewhere in Miami for more than two years.

They have failed on three different occasions to agree with the city on a spot.
