The coast was clear for 4th of July fireworks... Happy Independence Day South Florida!
Forecast models are supporting our current pattern to continue through next week... Our steering winds in the upper atmosphere will remain out of the West-Southwest. Also, the sea breezes are expected to develop each afternoon and push toward interior areas of South Florida. However, because of our upper pattern, some moisture will make it over the Metro areas of Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Expect skies to clear as we lose the heating of the day...
Temperatures will be very hot throughout the afternoon each day... There is plenty of humidity in place and when you factor the actual air temperature, heat indicies will run between 100-105 degrees.
I know outdoor festivities will take place on this long weekend, but as you make plans throughout the day, make sure to stay hydrated. In addition, the UV index is on the extreme range, so slather up the sunscreen and make sure to reply.
Tropical update: A non-tropical low 800 miles Southwest of the Azores is moving East at 10mph. Shower and thunderstorms have increased since last, but the National Hurricane Center is still giving it less than a 30% chance for further development.
