Afternoon Storms .. Possible Drier Weekend

Posted by

After a night of strong storms, mother nature gave South Florida a little break providing for all the sunshine you were greeted with as we started our Friday. Enjoy the early sunshine because the models show the clouds building and showers with some possible strong storms returning to the area later in the day. The reason for the possible storms is because of a late season front that is forecasted to move into South Florida. With the combination of the heat, and humidity plus our steering winds moving in from the Gulf of Mexico, all we need is that front to move in to help trigger the storms. These storms will move towards the metro and coastal areas so make sure you have your umbrella's.

The Father's day weekend forecast will start off with a slight chance of showers Saturday as the weak frontal boundary lingers across South Florida. By Saturday night and into Sunday we are expecting high pressure to build over the area providing for a drier and breezy weather pattern come Sunday! Where high pressure will be located it will bring back the ocean breeze, that could spark up some advisories for you beachgoers.

Otherwise here is how the Father's Day Forecast looks:

Have a great weekend & happy Father's Day to all the dad's!

Our Weekend Warm-up

We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Back to Summer-like Heat

Good-bye mild weather:

I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
