Staying Hot into your 4th of July Forecast....

Posted by

We will remain under typical summer conditions with tons sun, heat, humidity with the possibility of isolated sea breeze showers. With an ocean breeze in place there is a risk of rip currents for the beachgoers today and through the 4th of July holiday!

The rest of the nation will continue the summer "Heat Wave" today and into the 4th of July.

And speaking of the 4th of July according to the Associated Press:

Drought and wildfire fears are snuffing out some Fourth of July festivities this year. From Utah to Indiana, state and local governments are calling off annual fireworks displays out of fear that a stray rocket could ignite tinder-dry brush and trigger a wildfire. They're also warning residents not to use fireworks, sparklers or Roman candles in backyards.Fires have charred more than 1.8 million acres this year in the U.S., and much of Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana have been under red-flag warnings for extreme fire danger.

In Colorado, where hundreds of homes have been destroyed by flames in the past month, firefighters have said they don't have the time or resources to stand watch over public events. At least nine public fireworks displays have been called off.

The worry is especially acute in the West, where crews are already battling out-of-control blazes in several states. Parts of the Midwest are affected, too, after weeks without any significant rain.

By the way all is quiet in the tropics.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Seasonal Weekend Heat

Our Weekend Warm-up

We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Good-bye mild weather:

I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
