Trapped by Moisture
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
South Florida there are five weather features keeping the weather unsettled providing for periods of clouds and tropical type downpours the last few days. However, since the ground is already saturated, additional rain may lead to localized street flooding in urban areas. The weather features I am talking about are three upper-level lows: one in the Gulf of Mexico, the other over the Northern Bahamas and another East of the Bahamas in the Atlantic Ocean. The two remaining features is a tropical wave over South Florida and a weak front draped over the Southeast United States.
These features are trapping tropical moisture over South Florida and keeping the rain chances high through the weekend. Unfortunately, we will see anytime showers and isolated storms. By the upcoming week, it looks like an area of high pressure will build in to bring drier conditions. Just keeping our fingers crossed that this long range pattern unfolds.
Tropical Update: All is quiet for now.
Have a wonderful evening South Florida and make it a safe one!

Our Weekend Warm-up
We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Good-bye mild weather:
I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
