Not too Shabby
Posted by Brent Cameron
This time of the year can be extra-volatile, across south Florida. Weather conditions just a week ago were very rough with the approach of Isaac! This weekend doesn't involve any tropical features... luckily. At worst, you may need to put up with a brief passing shower, though.
Our weather is under the influence of high pressure. In fact, it's a sprawling high that extends from the central Gulf to the western Atlantic Ocean. For us, it's an "onshore pattern" that sends any developing showers to the west. We're also picking up a decent breeze (from the east) which is also helping to curb some of the heat.
The main change through the early week involves an upper low that's spinning (high in the atmosphere) several hundred miles from Florida. As it gets closer... by Tuesday and the middle of the week... we could see some additional "instability showers and storms" flaring up. As the week continues, then, we're anticipating a switch in steering winds. As that happens, expect more frequent afternoon storms. Stay tuned.

The HEAT Continues
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
The "HEAT" Continues South Florida. High temperatures expected to range in the low 90s with the feel's like temperatures in the triple digits. Summer officially starts on Friday and we've been feeling the "HEAT" for a while now. This is due to steamy winds from the South as there is an area of high pressure centered in the Western Atlantic Ocean extending into the Gulf of Mexico. As far as rain chances are concerned, we will have typical chances each afternoon through Friday of seeing spotty inland storms. By the weekend, we could be dealing with a few more showers, but still feeling the Summer "HEAT." Temperature reading will be normal.

We are going to be feeling the Heat once again this afternoon. Summer officially begins on Friday and wouldn't you know it... it's started a few weeks early for us with temperature reading a few degrees above where we should be for this time of year. The weather so far has been great and outside of a spotty inland storm today and Thursday that is basically it. On Friday, we could see some more moisture around.
