Sun & Storms
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
This weekend promises to have a little bit of everything with sun and storms...
On Saturday look for passing coastal showers and the majority of the day to be rather dry. By the afternoon, we will have repeat performance like on Friday where we saw some strong inland storms form. The storms that do form could produce heavy downpours, gusty winds and lightning. For the most part, look for bright weather at the beaches.
However, everything will change on Sunday as we will be watching the progress of a Westward moving tropical wave in the Caribbean South of Cuba. This wave is loaded with moisture and once it reaches the Yucatan Peninsula, it will be drawing deep tropical moisture our way. The tropical moisture will translate into wetter times.
By Monday, a front will stall over North-Central Florida and just trap that deep tropical moisture over us to provide for unsettled weather through Wednesday. Therefore, look for more rain and clouds to be around.
Tropics Update:
Nadine is still going and going... Going on being at active storm for about 18 days in the Atlantic Ocean. Sustained winds are at 70mph. It is a little weaker this Saturday, but still a system the Azores need to closely watch. The rest of the tropics is quiet.
Have a wonderful weekend South Florida and make it a safe one!

Still On Flood Watch

Wet and Soggy Work Week
Clouds with hints of sunshine will be the routine over the next couple of days. The push of more warm, moist air will amp up the instability over South Florida tonight bringing a chance for heavy rain. A Flood Watch is in effect for the Miami-Dade and Broward Counties until 10pm. An area of low pressure sweeping to the north will keep a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms at the start of the weekend.
