*Coastal flood warning until 10am for Broward and Miami-Dade. A coastal flood warning for the upper Florida Keys will be in place until 5pm.
*High surf advisory for coast Broward and Miami-Dade until 10am.
*Small Craft Advisory in place for rough seas.
South Florida if you haven't been outside already, cool weather is already in the air... However, chilly weather is working it's way slowly and it's coming tonight! Make sure to dust off the sweaters, jackets, coats and bring out the scarves because we will be feeling Fall South Florida style!!!
We had a cold front move through yesterday and high pressure has settled in to the middle part of the United States. This is helping our winds to shift out of the North-Northwest allowing for the cooler air to filter through. In fact, by tomorrow morning lows will range in the low 50s along the coast to upper 40s inland. This does not factor in the wind chill readings... the strong breeze from the North will make it feel colder!
It looks like the majority of the week will be nice and dry with Fall-like weather. As we end the week temperatures will not be as chilly due to high pressure moving a bit more East and our winds shifting out of the Northeast. By the weekend, another cold front should move through... to keep the cool air coming!
Tropical Update: Hurricane Sandy got a little stronger this morning and still holding to Category one status with sustained winds at 85mph. It is located 265 miles East of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Sandy is expected to bring life-threatening storm surge and hurricane force winds, plus heavy snows to the Northeast. This system is so large that tropical storm force winds extend 485 miles from the center that the majority of the Mid-Atlantic states are experiencing strong winds. In fact, the center of Sandy will move over the coast of the Mid-Atlantic states tonight or early morning.
Have a wonderful work week South Florida and stay warm!

Wet and Soggy Work Week
Clouds with hints of sunshine will be the routine over the next couple of days. The push of more warm, moist air will amp up the instability over South Florida tonight bringing a chance for heavy rain. A Flood Watch is in effect for the Miami-Dade and Broward Counties until 10pm. An area of low pressure sweeping to the north will keep a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms at the start of the weekend.

Almost 9 inches of rain have been reported in portions of South Florida in the last 12-15 hours. Street flooding of urban areas due to poor drainage and saturated soils with additional rains expected today will make streets impassible. Therefore, the National Weather Service has a flood watch in effect for coastal and metro Broward and Miami-Dade until 10pm.

Lots of rain has been falling in Broward. Areas of Pompano Beach, Margate and Deerfield Beach have already been under an Urban Flood advisory. Additional showers and storms today will produce heavy rain leading localized street flooding, frequent lightning and gusty winds with the activity that forms. Therefore, be sure to pack the patience throughout your afternoon to early evening commute because it will be slowed down by the rain.
