Weak Front
Posted by Brent Cameron
A once powerful cold front, recently criss-crossing the country, has settled into Florida with little consequence. The weakening front is draped across central Florida where clouds have become more numerous. There's also been some random rain showers triggered by the front. Over the next day or two, the old boundary is likely to fall apart while a large ridge of high pressure builds down into Florida from the north. The end result (for us) will be more pleasant conditions with mainly dry and stable air in place... throughout the late-week. The next possible weather change involves a second cold front. The latest forecast maps show it approaching south Florida early in the weekend. It may have a little more going for it than its predecessor, so we may see a few showers... followed by some slight cooling. Stay tuned.

Our Weekend Warm-up
We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Good-bye mild weather:
I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.

One last mild day:
High pressure will keep us mostly dry under sunny skies and enjoying mild temps for this time of year. You can thank a huge dome of high pressure sitting over us for the lovely conditions. High pressure after all, is your fair-weather friend.
