Record rain in Key West on Wednesday. This comes to us from the Key West Weather Service: The daily rainfall record for Wednesday (12/5/2012) is only 0.42"...last set in 2009. We have already surpassed this value as of 4 p.m. (at the time this update was issued, we currently stand at 0.49"). Additional rainfall is anticipated so expect a "record report" update to be sent out after midnight t.
Plenty of features surrounding Florida that could lead to some pockets of rain from Thursday thru Friday. There is a cold front by Georgia, an upper Low in the Gulf of Mexico by Louisiana, and an area of disturbed weather over the Bahamas. That area of disturbed weather should move here over the next 2 days bringing with it the chance for showers and storms. No change in temps expected and the weekend is still looking good.

The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Good-bye mild weather:
I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
