Cold Weekend
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
Winter kicks off with very cold temps through the weekend.
Advisories:
*Wind chill advisory will be in effect until 8am Saturday morning in Broward West of I-95 and Miami-Dade, west of the Turnpike. Temps should be in the 40's over much of Broward and Miami-Dade but with strong winds out of the north. it will make the temps feel like the 30's!.
Welcome Winter... A strong cold front moved through South Florida on Friday and it has turned our weather windy and cold. An area of high pressure is settling in around the center part of the United States and the jet stream has taken a dive to the South. This means cold air will stick around through the weekend.
Saturday morning will see wake up temps in the 40s. If you haven't dusted off those sweaters, coats and jackets do so now. The weekend will be cold and high temperatures will be in the upper 60s. By early next week, a gradual warming trend will take place as high pressure slips into the Western Atlantic Ocean. Christmas day is looking nice and seasonal.
Have a wonderful weekend South Florida and bundle up!

The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
