Rain in the near future
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
South Florida rain is in the near future... We've been so dry and now the computer models are hinting at growing rain chances and possible thunder come the end of the week. A cold front responsible for the twisters between Mississippi and Alabama over the weekend will stall over the Southeast United states on Tuesday. Then it will receive a push to make it to South Florida before stalling out again. This is expected to happen on Wednesday and the front will linger through Friday. As it does so, our rain chances go up. In fact, we are looking at a 40 percent chance on Valentine's Thursday and a 50 percent chance on Friday... Maybe snuggle weather it is with your better half on Thursday... Doesn't sound like such a bad idea on such a special day!
However, as we head into the weekend a stronger cold front seems to be moving in on Saturday taking with it the unsettled weather weather. Most of the models are showing a cold Canadian area of high pressure settling in for Sunday in response to the passage of the cold front to bring us a significant drop in degrees. Finally Winter weather for South Florida.
Have a wonderful week South Florida and make it a safe one!

We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
