Umbrella Weather

Local Weather:

South Florida a cold front over us is producing overcast skies and periods of showers at times, so umbrella weather it is today. However, the sunshine that will be available will help to trigger an isolated thunderstorm late this afternoon. The cold front will linger through Thursday morning which is why we are leaving a chance of showers in the forecast.

Beyond Thursday conditions will be cooling down each day leading into the weekend. Another cold front is set to move through late Saturday and bring colder air for the beginning of next week. Computer models are not in agreement on how cold it will get, but we could dip into the upper 40s for low temperatures on Monday.

On another note... On Channel 7 News you probably heard the story of Maggie the puppy who was saved by Miami-Dade Station 34 firefighters. Maggie is an adorable one year old puppy who needs one last surgery to help save her remaining back dislocated leg. After the surgery, she will be able to be adopted and have the opportunity to go to a loving home. Pets give us unconditional love and the fact that Maggie could have the opportunity to love and be loved is priceless. Signs of Summer

Recent days have featured higher humidity levels and (like it or not) our steamy air will likely stick around... for a very long time!   The official start of the summer season is a full month away.  Just the same, south Florida appears to be getting our usual "head start" on summer type weather... NOW.

Our Weekend Warm-up

We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Good-bye mild weather:

I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
