Chilly Start

Posted by Vivian Gonzalez

A chilly start to Thursday morning is underway South Florida, but it will be gradually warming up as we head into the weekend. I'm sure if you have the heated seats option this morning you are probably putting them to good use because by our standards the 40s and 50s is cold. While the Northeast can easily experience about 20 inches of snow, we will be under the influence of an are of high pressure to keep things mostly dry and nice. Temperatures each day will warm up to near seasonal levels heading into the weekend and back into the 80s for high temperatures by the middle of next week.

This weekend the winds will be picking up out of the Northeast creating beach concerns as large swells could range between 8-10 feet. I know this is ideal for surfers, but please be extra cautious out on the waters. Rip currents, high surf, beach erosion and coastal flooding during times of high tide will be possible. The wind will relax as the new week approaches.

Have a great Thursday South Florida and make it a safe one!

Our Weekend Warm-up

We were spoiled with a mild start to the week as the air was drier and the highs were below normal. Over the next few days, it will be hot with more humidity as we reach seasonal afternoon heat. The dome of warm air that has not budged will bring the peak heat of the upper 80s with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.

Back to Summer-like Heat

Good-bye mild weather:

I hope you've enjoyed our recent mild temps teamed up with drier air. A dome of warm air will push the mercury readings into the ballpark of our 87° average over the next couple of days. A cold front sweeping to the north will add more clouds to the scenery with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms into next week.
