Soggy Spring Start?
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
Key West set a record for rainfall on the last day of winter.
They received 1.28 inches of rainfall at the Key West Int'l Airport. This breaks the previous record of 1.13" that fell in 1918.
The rain was due to a flare up of moisture in the Gulf of Mexico. In fact, steady light rain was around Broward and Miami-Dade from Monday night through the morning hours.
As for Wednesday (first day of Spring), our chance for rain will come from a weak cold front located over North Florida and improvements will be seen on Thursday with another area of high pressure settling in to dry things out.
Spring kicks off Wednesday morning at 7:02am.
Have a wonderful day South Florida and make it a safe one!
