All the ingredients are there to see heavy rain, gusty winds, hail and isolated tornadoes through Friday afternoon.
There will be two rounds of activity moving through South Florida capable of producing severe weather. The risk of tornadoes will be greater along the Southeast Florida coast if a sea breeze does manage to develop through this evening with the first round associated with a piece of energy splitting from an area of low pressure and front over North Florida. The second round of activity will be expected overnight and Friday with a line of strong showers and storms due to the leading edge of the actual front... main concerns will be gusty winds and hail.
A tornado watch has been issued for several counties from Central to South Florida until 8pm tonight including Broward, Miami-Dade and mainland Monroe.
