On this "Earth Day" we are off to a soggy start South Florida! Although we are receiving beneficial rainfall, it is not coming at the right time... The rain and slick roadways are definitely slowing down your morning commute. There is good and bad news... The good news is that the majority of the activity has pushed offshore and the bad news is more activity expected later today. However, the sunshine available today will help fuel additional showers and storms... It looks like some could potentially be strong producing heavy downpours, gusty winds, dangerous lightning, hail and localized street flooding.
By Tuesday, an area of high pressure will build to bring in drier air to South Florida. It should be mostly dry through Wednesday. Right now the models are going with mostly dry conditions through Friday, but that could change if a weak front decides to hang around North Central Florida.
Have a great "Earth Day" and make it a safe one!
