The HEAT Continues
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
The "HEAT" Continues South Florida. High temperatures expected to range in the low 90s with the feel's like temperatures in the triple digits. Summer officially starts on Friday and we've been feeling the "HEAT" for a while now. This is due to steamy winds from the South as there is an area of high pressure centered in the Western Atlantic Ocean extending into the Gulf of Mexico. As far as rain chances are concerned, we will have typical chances each afternoon through Friday of seeing spotty inland storms. By the weekend, we could be dealing with a few more showers, but still feeling the Summer "HEAT." Temperature reading will be normal.
Tropical Depression #2: The center emerged into the Southern Bay of Campeche Tuesday night and now has a small window of opportunity to get stronger. There is plenty of warm waters and less wind shear around that could lead into it becoming Tropical Storm Barry in the next 12 hours before making landfall a second time over portions over Mexico some time on Thursday. A hurricane hunter plane will be investigating it later today. For now, a tropical storm warning is in effect for parts of Mexico. In fact, the center will come close to the state of Veracruz where flash flooding and mudslides possible due to the rain expected in the region in the next 24-36 hours. Maximum amounts of 10 inches possible.
Weak Wave: We are watching a large area of clouds and rain by the Lesser Antilles.
Have a great Wednesday and make it a safe one!
