Tropical Moisture Brings Summer Gloom
A train of rain will continue to move through South Florida into your mid-week forecast. Our atmosphere is loaded with moisture as the jet stream dips over the Gulf of Mexico and a blocking high to the East pulls in wet tropical air from the Caribbean. Cloudy skies will bring gloomy conditions with more rain chances for Wednesday. Gleamers of more sunshine wil accompany the tropical moisture creating chances of thunderstorms.
One of two things could happen for the Fourth of July. Scenario one, which the models are favoring, is the tropical moisture continues to be pumped into South Florida bringing a soggy Independence Day extending into the weekend. Scenario two paints a drier picture. The jet stream could move away from the Gulf and allow high pressure to bring drier air with a chance of spotty storms by Thursday.
