Cloudy, Wet and Stormy
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
Wet and stormy conditions with extensive cloudiness is expected from today through Thursday. The computer models have been trending wetter in the last couple of runs, which means a decent chance of rain will be in the forecast. Potentially heavy rain leading to localized street flooding possible.
Why so wet?
1) A small disturbance is in the Bahamas producing lots of clouds and rain.
2) There is a stronger breeze out of the East. Also, creating a high risk of rip currents for swimmer along South Florida beaches. This breeze is dragging the moisture our away.
3) Also, an upper level low spinning over us is helping to juice up our atmosphere.
With these ingredients present unsettled weather is expected. We just need to get through the next few days South Florida, because there is some good news for the weekend. Another area of high pressure will be building back into the region and this means seasonal type weather with bright sunshine to start and afternoon inland Summer storms possible. High temperatures will be back in the low 90s.
Tropics: All is quiet for now.
Have a great day South Florida and don't forget to have your umbrellas with you as anytime downpours will around.
