Nice start to the week
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
Last week was simply wet and we are getting a much deserved break from the relentless rains we received. The sunshine is back and we will take it! It is always refreshing to be the messenger of good news and at least the start of the week we don't have to worry about rain being the cause for traffic troubles. Although the radar is dry, the air is not totally dry. Therefore, don't let your guard down. We are expecting between today and tomorrow the sea breeze to fire up showers and storms, but they should be steered well out west and into Southwest Florida. There is only a slight chance of seeing a stray storm around the East coast.
By Wednesday, our steering winds will be shifting out of the West-Southwest and this means, more heat and clouds will be around, but the sea breeze driven showers and storms will be steered our way. They will be concentrated around the East coast. This will be the trend through Friday, so look for generally quiet starts with a stormy finish. Rain chances are a little higher through the end of the week.
Tropics: A tropical wave off the West coast of Africa over 500 miles East-Southeast of the Cape Verde Islands is being monitored by The National Hurricane Center. It only has a low chance to develop. They are stating that conditions are marginally favorable for some development in the next couple of days as the disturbance moves West at 10-15mph.
Have a great Monday South Florida and make it a safe one!
