Labor Day Weekend
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
The pesky upper low that had overstayed its welcome for 5 days across South Florida is finally falling apart. As it fades away most of its moisture should dissipate, but there will be enough left behind to bring us a shower here or a t-storm there through Labor Day. Highs will remain near seasonal average around 90°. Enjoy this the "unofficial end of summer".
If you are planning to hit the beach or do any boating this weekend, a nice ocean breeze will be on tap.
Tropics: NHC watching two areas.
-A weak wave 700 miles East of the Lesser Antilles has a low chance to develop in the next 5 days.
-A tropical wave associated with a broad area of low pressure moving off the coast of West Africa has a medium chance to develop in the next 2 days. In the next 3-5 days, it has a high chance. The good news is that most of the models keep this possible system out at sea and only a concern for the shipping lanes. The Cape Verde Islands will likely see cloudiness and thunderstorms in the next 2 or 3 days.
Most of the models keep these two areas out at sea.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend and make it a safe one!
