Local weather: Chance for showers and storms each afternoon possible all week long. Some downpours expected to affect the afternoon/early evening commute.
The 8th named storm of the season has formed in the far Eastern Atlantic Ocean. This one is already producing strong gusty winds and bands of rains over the Cape Verde Islands. What is different about this system, is that it is poised to become the seasons first hurricane on Wednesday. It is moving through warm waters where it will have the opportunity to gain strength.
As for the rest of the tropics, we are following a broad area of low pressure a few hundred miles South of Bermuda associated with remnants of Gabrielle. This one has a low chance to develop in the next 5 days.
There is also a broad low pressure that could form the Southern Bay of Campeche in the next few days. It has a medium chance to develop and it will be a potential rainmaker over Eastern Mexico in the next few days.
Have a great Monday and make it a safe one!
