Hello Sunshine! Goodbye Summer!
Plenty of sunshine will light up South Florida this weekend. Dry air will continue to move in from the north of us. As pockets of moisture linger around our area, expect a slight chance of showers (very small opportunity) favoring the inland cities. Mostly sunny skies will shine on into Sunday, the first day of Fall.
By the beginning of next week, tropical moisture will surge into South Florida bringing chances of the showers and storms for the first half of the week as the energy ahead of the frontal boundary sweeping to the north saturates the atmosphere.
Eyes on the Tropics
We are experiencing a mostly quiet end to summer in the tropics for this Atlantic season. An area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico is no longer showing signs of developing into a tropical cyclone. Chances are at a near 0 for the next 3-5 days.
A broad low to the southeast of Bermuda remains unorganized and is showing less signs of becoming well-defined over the next few days. This system has a low chance, 10%, of tropical cyclone development over the next 3-5 days.
