TS Karen and the Weekend

Sunny South Florida Weekend
As most of the moisture near Florida gets steered away from us into the Gulf, there will be a slight chance of showers on Saturday. By Sunday, we could see isolated showers with a slight chance of storms, favoring inland cities.
Tropical Storm Karen is not looking healthy as it is starting to shear apart from upper level winds. A Hurricane Watch issued along portions of the Gulf Coast was lifted. A Tropical Storm Warning is still in effect from Morgan City, Louisiana to the mouth of the Pearl River. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from Metro New Orleans, Louisiana to Indian Pass, Florida. Models are forecasting Karen to make landfall this weekend from Grand Isle, Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. Tropical Storm Karen is expect to rain itself out by the start of next week over the Florida Panhandle.
Further down the road, an area of low pressure forming in the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean has a near zero chance of becoming a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours and a medium chance for development over the next 5 days.
