Unsettled Weather Ahead
Posted by Vivian Gonzalez
Unsettled weather is ahead for South Florida... The weekend was picture perfect and at least the start of the week has been nice. However, on Monday night the clouds and rain showers are set to move in.
Why the rain? We have a weak cold front over North Florida that has merged with the remnants of Karen and that will allow for the air to get juiced up and just right for the development of showers and storms at any time. This tropical type air will also make temperatures feel hot due to the high humidity.
Most computer models suggest that as long as that front hangs around South Florida before fading, we will see a chance of showers and storms. In fact, in the next 24 hours some are hinting that up to 2 inches of rain could be possible. For now, plan accordingly because the clouds and rain are set to make for a soggy two days. By Thursday, another area of high pressure will settle in drawing air out of the Northwest, then Northeast into the weekend. Drier and nice weather once again expected over the weekend.
Area 1: A low pressure area could form early this week along a tropical wave located a few hundred miles Southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a medium chance of 30% to develop in the next 3-5 days.
Area 2: A weak area of low pressure midway between Puerto Rico and Bermuda is slowly moving North. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a low chance of 10% to develop in the next 3-5 days.
Have a wonderful start to the week and make it a safe one!
